The still water of the lake cautioned me eagerly,
I reflect truth,
Naked, stark and unvarnished.
I stood undaunted.
The reflections changed
From peach to purple
From white to black
From red to blue
I stood undaunted,
With quite an effort.
And then within seconds
I closed my eyes
And looked into myself.
The images proved fair.
Taking a deep breath
I stared back at the glass-like surface of the silvery liquid
This time smiling, I said,
“Cool! I like you”
